About
Topics you may see: information on Social Work issues; Autumn; Role Playing Games; Biblical passages and/or verses; commentary; likes & dislikes to mention just a few topics. This is a place to share my hobbies and to post whatever I feel like posting.
I will try and post once a week. Sometime I will share more often than that and other times it may be longer.
“Doc Halloween Presents:” Mission Statement:
“To keep this blog fun, family friendly, unthreatening, and welcoming to as wide a range of people as possible. “
Rules of Nine for “Doc Halloween Presents:”
Rule 0: This is my blog. My word is law. None of the following rules give away that right. Despite that, I strive to be reasonable.
Rule 1: Respect other’s post or comments. Do not make attacks when leaving comments. Challenging ideas is fine, but do not attack individuals or groups. Racist, sexist, homophobic (including the use of “gay” as a pejorative) and other slurs are prohibited.
Rule 2: Respect our purpose and structure. Post in the appropriate subject’s comment box.
Rule 3: Respect the law. Do not post anything illegal under U.S. law or encouraging other users to break U.S. laws or the laws of their country of residence.
Rule 4: Respect the audience. Do not post pornography and/or anything that can be considered inappropriate graphic sexual content in any format; this includes detailed descriptions of sex acts. Do not post links to pornography or otherwise inappropriate sexually explicit sites.
Rule 5: Respect privacy. Do not post for public viewing any emails or Private Messages unless you have the explicit written permission of each person involved in the exchange. Do not use posts or parts of posts from these forums for commercial ends without the express permission of each person involved.
Rule 6: Respect my time. Do not try and sell items or services anywhere on this blog. Do not spam the blog.
Rule 7: Respect your account. Do not share your account with other individuals, as you will be held responsible for any rules violations that occur under your account. Do not impersonate other users, past or present. Do not impersonate Doc Halloween or the staff.
Rule 8: Respect our expertise. I am a blogger, not trained professional. Do not request emergency crisis counseling or solicit personal financial donations from Doc Halloween, the staff, visitors in general, or other posters in specific.
Rule 9: Respect my decisions. The moderation team or I reserves the right to warn you or not of your comment judged to be acting against the spirit of the rules, even post conforming to the letter. I or the moderation team reserves the right to not accept your comment for any reason.
Five Guidelines for Posting:
1) Be polite. Try to be considerate. Make some basic attempt at using proper capitalization, punctuation, spelling and grammar, because they all aid in communication. Use profanity is NOT tollerated.
2) Derailing a discussion is a good way to annoy everyone involved in the conversation. If you absolutely need to discuss something else, find an appropriate subject for your topic or start your own blog.
3) Do not blogcrap. If you wish to correct what you see as an error or fallacy in a post, that is fine, but if you have a problem with the basic premise of a discussion such that you wish it was not taking place at all, ignore it. Do not tell everyone in the discussion they are wasting their time discussing the issue, because if they agreed with you, they would not be discussing the issue.
4) Think before you post. It can sometimes be hard to determine where acceptable conversation ends and attacks or other rules violations begin, especially in the heat of a debate.
5) Do not post without actually saying anything relevant. Please do not post articles, news stories, blog posts, links etc. without comment.
