Some of Doc’s Favorite Bible Verses

Many today have unprecedented access to God’s Word. The Bible holds a tremendous amount of knowledge. There are parts that challenge your mind (and it does my mind) but there is treasures of wisdom and knowledge within it. Read it to be wise, believe in it to be safe, and practice it to be holy.

Here are some of Doc’s Favorite Verses from my “New International Version” Bible:

GREATEST LOVE

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)

WORRY

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:34)

GOD LOVES YOU

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

ALL ARE SINNERS

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

“There is no one righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10)

GOD’S REMEDY FOR SIN

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)

ALL MAY BE SAVED NOW

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20)

ASSURANCE AS A BELIEVER

GOD’S REASSURANCE

HELP

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2)

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

ONLY WAY TO GOD IS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS

LONELINESS

“Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors; I am a dread to my friends – those who see me on the street flee from me. I am forgotten by them as though I were dead; I have become like broken pottery” (Psalm 31:11-12)

“At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me” (2 Timothy 4:16)
