Everywhere, I Will Be With You

holding hands“I can not bear it alone.” We have all had many instances in our lives when we utter those words. Maybe you are worried. Perhaps you are frightened and scared during a terrible event. It could be you have a bully or an enemy seeking to do you harm. There are situations that we would rather not face alone: death of a loved one, being homeless, loss of a job or starting a new one, divorce, or being sick in the hospital. Having someone with you makes all the difference.

We do not always have what it takes to deal with all of life’s pressures and problems. With the Lord’s help we can take it. He told Paul, “For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.” (Acts 18:10)

“To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it way from me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:7-10) Paul did not tough it out alone. He prayed for deliverance but God strengthened him so he could bear those difficulties.

When Jesus sent His disciples out, He gave them this promise: “and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20) He told His disciples that even though He was sending them into unknown places He would be with them.

Our Lord is with us no matter how bad a day we are having; be it sickness, sadness, fear, or failures. He is even there for us when days are all sunshine and smiles; successes, health, and happiness.

God is always in our presence. No matter what is going on around us we are not alone. He stands beside us in every circumstances. “ The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”(Zephaniah 3:17) God is always saving His people. Take comfort in His promises. He is mighty and He will save all believers from every threat.

When Moses died Joshua had fears and worries. God told him, “No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5) The Lord told Joshua to be strong and courageous. Just as God was with Moses, Joshua, and the children of Israel, He will always be with you.

Is life weighing you down? Are you lonely, discouraged, or frightened? “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (2 Perter 5:7) During stressful times, take a moment to let God know you acknowledge His presence with you. Ask the Lord to grant you strength, take you by the hand, and guide you on through tough moments and trials.

There is someone who will be there always if you let Him. The Holy Spirit is our protector and God’s constant presence in our lives. See God everywhere. Trust in Him and the promise He gave to you. Let the Lord take your burdens and heavy loads for you. Then rejoice that there is a source of strength, courage, and comfort we can call upon. Welcome His presence and help in difficult times when you need someone with you.
